So, you’re a psychotherapist AND a coach. Do you provide both services?
No. After over a decade of practicing psychotherapy (and a few years of dancing with offering both therapy and coaching), I made the full leap into coaching. In 2019 I decided to make it official and drop my counseling license (because helloooooo my work is ALL about cultivating holistic alignment, so I better lead with it, right?!) Coaching is my jam, it allows me to cultivate deep relationships with my clients and utilize my FULL toolbox without limits so that I can meet and support each client where they are.
Currently, I work with clients locally and virtually so can provide coaching to anyone, regardless of location, via phone or a Skype-like video program.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Great question! It can be confusing, as there is a LOT of overlap. The way I often think about it is that most aspects of coaching can fit under the umbrella of therapy (I was always a very coach-y therapist), but certain aspects of therapy can’t fit under the coaching umbrella. If you are looking for support with a specific mental health diagnosis, addictions, or healing past trauma, then therapy is definitely the support for you.
Other differences depend more on level of commitment, motivation, and how much support you want. Therapy is a session by session commitment. Coaching is based on a contracted commitment for a certain number of sessions over a period of time (typically a minimum of three months), and usually includes contact with me in between sessions to support continued progress. Coaching is a great fit for highly motivated clients who are ready to really invest in the process, gain powerful insight, and turn it into action!
Still not clear about which service is the best fit for you?
Feel free to contact me for a free 15 minute consultation to figure it out.
What is the cost of your services?
Coaching rates vary, depending on the length of the contract and frequency of sessions. I’m happy to discuss options with you if you feel that coaching is a fit.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance does not cover coaching services.
(NOTE: I work with many business owners and entrepreneurs and often coaching IS considered a business write off, so many of my clients are able to invest in themselves as they are also investing in their business.)
